Repeating Keyboard

My 2016 Macbook Pro keyboard is repeating like crazy. It sounds like a lot of people started having this problem in 2020 coinciding with Covid. I was just told by customer service that even though everything stopped in 2020 and I could not go to a store to fix it I am not eligible for a free fix of their defective product. My time frame expired.

Apple acknowledges they have produced a defective product will a delayed issue and don't sttand by it.

I'm surprised and disappointed in the company.
