how do I reset or fix my mission control feature? swiping up with three fingers worked for a few days and now I can't open mission control with the three possible ways to engage it.

Try Safe Mode. If Mission Control works, you have an extension/process that's interfering with it.
Start up your Mac in safe mode
If it still doesn't work, since Mission Control is a part of MacOS, you'll need to re-install MacOS. You can do that via Recovery Mode without deleting your files (but it's best to have a backup, as always).
