macOS Screen Share not working if FileVault AND Firewall are enabled

I just came across the issue mentioned here and can confirm that Screen Sharing doesn't work between an M1 host and ANY target Mac (M1 or Intel) when FileVault is enabled on the host machine:

If I disable the macOS Firewall the connection succeeds - and continues to work if I re-enable the Firewall after connecting. I'm skeptical of the "by design" comment from Apple Support. It doesn't appear to be documented anywhere that Users can't share their screen from a M1 Mac source if they have that combination of features enabled. Firewall even explicitly has allowances for Screen Sharing when you enable it, so it definitely just seems like a tricky bug that needs to be sorted out.

You are "preaching to the choir" when you complain here. These User-to-User forums are for brainstorming solutions with other Users.

Readers are almost exclusively other users like you, unless they have "Apple community specialist" added to their Avatar. there is no follow up from these postings, and Apple movers and shakers do not troll the forums looking for outstanding issues.

If you believe this is a Bug, press the Apple Online Support people to connect you with a specialist, and do not relent until you get on record with a Bug Report (or a solution).

Yep, I agree. But the one upside of this forum is that is it one of the most-visible ways us sad users can actually find out if an issue they are having is actually a real issue experienced by others. I came across the other thread trying to diagnose this issue and was thankful that someone had posted it. I just wanted to re-up that here and to redirect that it does seem like a bug (the previous thread has a comment indicating maybe it was by design). I would have just replied to the previous post but alas, it is blocked for updates (it's not even that old of a thread!). I'll try to open an Apple Support case when I have time to burn fighting through the lower-tiers of support...
