iPhone won't show in Finder

When I plug it in via usb, the iPhone dings for recharge, and I select "Trust this computer", however in macOS Finder, it does not show up. One thing I noticed in under the Finder Preferences is that the option for "CDs, DVDs, and iPods" seems to be wrong (pic below), but rather should be "CDs, DVDs, and iOS Devices" as described by the Apple support page. Could this be the root cause? Very frustrating!
