USB-C Headphone Jack Adapter Not Working on 2021 iPad Pro 11" 2nd generation

My Apple USBC to 3.5mm headphone adapter will not connect either of my two high quality headphone sets. I have tried connecting headphones fast, slow and ensuring all is seated correctly. I have restarted while connected and restarted before connecting, but audio continues to come from ipad speakers and not thru headphones. I cannot find a setting anywhere about headphone connections thru usbc outlet adapter.

Thanks for reply - I just solved the problem. I was trying to connect my usbc/3.5mm adapter to the ipad thru the power usbc outlet on the attached Magic Keyboard (does not connect headphones). When I plugged the adapter directly into the ipad usbc outlet, the headphones connected individually (both pairs work now). So, apparently, the Magic Keyboard does not throughput data, just power ?

Hello TMflyfisher,

See if your iPhone can play audio through the headphones. If not, your headphones are not supported. If they do work, then the adapter is broken. I am not an audio expert so you may ask an expert for this, or ask apple directly --> https://apple.com/contact

Best regards,

The USB-C port in the spine of the Magic Keyboard provides a pass-through power connection for your Power Adapter. This port does not, as you have now discovered, support data or connection of other USB-C accessories.

For data and connection of other USB devices, you must use the USB-C port of the iPad itself.
