See if your Mac meets the requirements for upgrading to Sierra: macOS Sierra - Technical Specifications
Hi,

I have a somewhat similar problem
(late 2012 iMac 27")
Trying to upgrade from 10.11.6 El Capitan to HS
Get to the apple store with the El Capt. page, select "OPEN" and a dialog box pops up
I get the same error for any other OS version attempt .
Hey Buckaroo...
If you get a corrupted message...
Naw, not damaged, it's just that you have an old copy already in Applications, there are 2 cures...
Disconnect from the Internet & set the Date back to 2014, then you can run the Install MacsOS High Sierra App in Applications, so expired Certificates are not expired.
Or... trash the Install MacsOS High Sierra.app in Applications, empty trash & restart, then a new copy of a more recent version can be downloaded…
Curses those meddling certificates!
Trashed the apps, download now proceeding 8^)
Thx BDA!
You're welcome, take care my friend. :)
