Apple Password Recovery Services

I am trying to log into a non-Apple account, but the password was changed. When I clicked the "Recover Password" button, I got a recovery email that said:

PASSWORD RECOVERY

WE RECEIVED A REQUEST TO RESET THE PASSWORD

Your account is integrated with Apple. Please use Apple password recovery services.

I'm not having a problem with my Apple password (proof, I could log into this support group!" and don't understand why the organization is telling me to use Apple password recovery services. As far as I know, Apple does not maintain the site I am trying to log in to, but just in case, I did try using my Apple password but, surprise surprise, that did not work.

I'm actually not expecting you to be able to help me, but perhaps you can. I have sent in a request to the organization as well, but my contact has only been working at her job for one week and I doubt she will know the answer.

Thanks,

Lizzy

If you forgot the Apple ID (iCloud) password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.

No, but what I think may have happened is this:

We are in Boy Scouts, I have an account in Scoutbook.org. He just got an iPhone and wanted set up his own Scoutbook account. I was sick with covid at the time, so I told him how to set up his own account from my account, but it looks like instead of doing that, he switched my e-mail address to his. When I enter my Username, is says that the associated e-mail address is his iCloud address, not my .mac address. I don't understand why I don't get a recovery e-mail though.
