does macbook pro support 4k streaming (netflix and hbo max)?

4K & HDR Streaming on Macbook It is almost 2024, and I cannot believe that we still cannot watch 4K and Dolby Vision (and other HDR formats) content on streaming platforms like HBO Max and Disney +. So far, Netflix is the only platform that allows it. I just feel bad, because I have the Macbook Pro 16” with M1 Pro and I cannot use the stunning high quality display to its fullest potential. I know there are methods to unlock this feature like watching it on AirPlay from your iPhone or iPad, but that’s not the point.

4k Prime video on macbook I have 14inch macbook pro and I also have installed prime video app but I am unable to stream 4K it only shows HD. Dont know why. Can anyone please help. Thank you

Watch 4K movies in the Apple TV app on MacBook Pro When I try to watch a 4K HDR (Dolby Vision) movie on my MacBook Pro (2023), I'm limited to 1080p (and even 720p by default), even though the app's streaming settings are set to 4K. How can I watch movies in full 4K HDR on my MacBook's built-in display in the Apple TV app, and is it even possible?

Netflix claims that with the latest Apple silicon it's capable of Ultra HD.

With HBO Max it's a little bit more complicated because they operate with so many different services (like through Comcast or other service providers). But they don't say much about streaming resolution other than for specific TVs and streaming devices.
