I would like to recover my icloud but cannot remember my password - my cellphone numbers have changed thus the verification code is going to my terminated number that i dont have access too. How else can i change the password of my apple id ?

Once you add a new trusted number and verify it , it depends upon you to shift new carrier , but before that contact you primary carrier they will issue a sim on behalf of that number .
