I use the scanner frequently and would like to put a shortcut to the icon from system preferences on my desktop. I find scanning using my HP printer software burdensome. Thanks

Currently there isn't a way to add that printers icon directly to your desktop. If this is something you'd like to see Apple add in the future, you can submit that feedback to them here: Product Feedback - Apple
