Perhaps you've found the workable settings to connect to internet

by Cellular in your iPhone. There'is this article, seems to cover that..

• Use cellular data on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

You may toggle this 'on and off'. Be aware when it's 'on' your Data

on a mobile account often costs more; and goes away sooner, than

if you've a steady wi-fi base, or other boosted non-cellular access.

When away from a wi-fi source, you can ration this; & your battery too.

And if your cellular account is on pre-pay, you may have to add time.

My home internet uses wired ISP modem; to wi-fi base. Yet iPhone at

sometimes needs to use cellular; so those settings need checked, too.

Also there are time where you may use 4G wi-fi to update your iOS.

Works, surprisingly, on some older iPhone models; just 2 weeks ago.

(As my cell phone was 'added as pre-pay,' when away from town, I

can run out; but found the provider's number works after depleted.)
