I can't use my phone, need help turning off whatever accessibility setting is preventing me from controlling it using the touch screen
An app crashed my phone and I had to shut it down. Now I can't use my phone, I need help turning off whatever is preventing me from controlling it using the touch screen. I'm not sure, but it might be an accessibility setting. I just don't know how to use my phone with it. I have tried asking Siri to do things, and it only says "Sorry, I can't do that."
I can't even enter my passcode. Whenever I touch the screen to enter the code, instead of just entering the numbers, there is a circle around each number I touch and Siri reads out the number in a sped-up voice. Every touch does nothing except announce which area of the screen I'm touching, so I can't actually enter my passcode. Also, when emails or messages come in, it announces what time it is and how many notifications there are. Again, quick like an auctioneer. When I touch cancel, it says "cancel." When I touch emergency, it says "emergency" but doesn't give me the emergency call screen. When I touch the sentence Enter Passcode it says "Enter Passcode."
The voice doing this is not even the Siri voice I have set. It's the usual Siri female voice, but sped up. The Siri voice I have set on my phone is British man. He responds in this voice "Sorry, I can't do that" when I ask him to do things.
I think it's happening because of the way I had to shut down the phone. It was unresponsive with wide bands of "noise" alternating with black. It looked like when your TV is showing only static, but not the whole screen... it happened in wide horizontal stripes. I couldn't clear it off the screen and I couldn't force quit any apps. All I could do was hold down the power button to try and shut it off, but since the screen was doing this static thing, I couldn't swipe the "shut down" slider. I panicked and just started alternating the Home button with the power button to get something to work. I guess I changed a setting somehow, and I assume that's what is causing this control issue.
This is ridiculous, but the only way I could get a picture of what it's doing was to have someone snap screenshots via webcam and send them to my computer. Sorry about the quality.
