Font display issues since installing Mojave 10.14

On my older iMac I recently installed macOS Mojave 10.14.6.

I have a lot of Word and Excel templates in Times font.

Since I have upgraded my macOS these templates do not display in Times when I open them.

I checked in the Font Book app and Times appears to be there and enabled.

There is a setting in Word preferences for WYSIWYG but I think that might only be for the font menus.

A setting in Excel allows you to set a standard font but doesn't change the display font even when Times is selected.

I am using an older Microsoft Office 2011 suite.

Any ideas anyone? Thanks

In Font Book did you Validate all fonts, sounds like you have a conflict.
