Vizio TV frequently crashes and reboots while Apple TV 4K is in use

I started using my ATV on this TV early this year. It used to only happen while things were paused, but now the TV can randomly reboot every 5-10 minutes. It can sometimes go hours or days before reoccurring, but the problem always resurfaces.

Was going to try another room's ATV to see if it fixes the problem. So far, Vizio support hasn't been able to assist, and the problem seems to be confined only to ATV. My Xbox Series X and other devices work fine without causing any issues with the TV.

Anyone else aware of this problem and how to fix it?

Hi Moski1213,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities! Testing your Apple TV with another TV would be a create isolation step. This will help determine if the issue is with the Apple TV itself or with the TV.

If this continues when connect to another TV, you'll want to confirm there are no software updates that need to be installed for your Apple TV.

To update your Apple TV,

  1. Go to Settings > System > Software Updates and select Update Software
  2. Select Download and Install if an update is available
  3. Allow the update to complete. Be sure not to unplug or disconnect the Apple TV until after the update completes.

Check out this article: Update your Apple TV - Apple Support

If this continues after updating the software, you may want to reach out to Apple Support for service options. Depending on your region, you may be able to reach them here: Get Support.

Hope that helps!
