I’m trying to update apps on my phone, but when I attempt to get a code confirmation, the code is sent to an old phone number. How do I change my iTunes contact phone number?

Log in to https://appleid.apple.com, click on Security, and change the phone number. It will ask for an authorization code; if you don’t have access to the old phone click on Didn’t Get Code, and chose an alternate trusted number that you hopefully set up. If you didn’t set one up and you have no way to receive a code, see→Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support, the last section on Account Recovery if nothing else listed works.
