find my macbook

So I erased my macbook via findmy. Now I have found it. I shows a lock and a place to put a password. How can I find out what that might be.

Did FindMy not require you to enter a “locking” passcode when you were reporting it lost and then erasing?

Edit to add: Just tried it on my own MBP. FindMy prompted me to create a special 6-digit “passcode” when marking the device as “lost.”

The MBP then required entry of the just-created 6-digit passcode upon startup.
