Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Liquid damage is not covered under warranty

To prevent liquid damage, avoid these:

• Swimming or bathing with your iPhone
• Exposing your iPhone to pressurized water or high velocity water, such as when showering, water skiing, wake boarding, surfing, jet skiing, and so on
• Using your iPhone in a sauna or steam room
• Intentionally submerging your iPhone in water
• Operating your iPhone outside the suggested temperature ranges or in extremely humid conditions
• Dropping your iPhone or subjecting it to other impacts
• Disassembling your iPhone, including removing screws

Sorry, but you unfortunately have completely misinterpreted the difference between water resistant and waterproof. Yes, iPhone is splash resistant. No, it is not designed to be submerged in water. And iPhone warranty will not cover water damage. You have sadly destroyed your phone and the two options you have available are:

1. Purchase an out of warranty replacement for about 60% of the cost of the phone when new
2. Purchase a brand new phone and recycle your now damaged phone.

You will need to check with Verizon to see what options they can offer you. If you chose to replace the phone by purchasing it from Apple, you will need to pay for it.

There is no help to be had. You’ve destroyed it. Water “resistant” does NOT mean “waterproof”.

Liquid damage is not covered by the warranty. The phone will have to be replaced.
