An out-of-warranty repair is typically c.60% of the “as new” cost of the iPad. If you have benefit of an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee. For qualifying devices, Apple will usually offer exchange for a reconditioned iPad of the same model and specification.
