THE DREADED LINES... note taking/ drawing issues with Ipad air (4) and apple pencil (2)

I promise you that I have tried every troubleshooting issue I could find on the internet.

But I keep having a recurring issue where when I write or draw on my iPad I am interrupted by the glitch of long lines across the screen. This issue I know I am not alone in experiencing.

Some of the troubleshooting tips I have used are as follows:

Within the notability app:

  • disconnecting apple pencil
  • turning off and on again "tap and hold"
  • turning off the "palm detection"

Within the Apple Settings app:

  • turning off zoom
  • disable "Only Draw with Apple Pencil".
  • disconnect the writing device via Bluetooth. Reconnect both

The procreate app also recommends the same troubleshooting topics.

Other troubleshooting tactics:

  • not charging while using (that's annoying btw)
  • switching screen protector
  • taking off the case to "ground" the ipad
  • moving the ipad to a alternate surface
  • changing apple pencil tips
  • using no screen protector
  • Updating Ipad entirely
  • Reset factory settings

I have done everything possible to absolve my life of this and it won't stop. I purchased this ipad and loved it in the beginning-- now I have my entire life on it and what... do I switch back to the old fashioned way? I love creating on the Ipad... I wouldnt like this option very much.

Is this the generation of Ipad? Most comments online come from this Ipad era, gen 4... If so, I want my money back so I can buy a new one because I don't know what to do :(
