My texts are sending but all of them say fail to send, is there a way to stop this?

I cannot send text messages to Android users from my iphone with iMessage turned on. I spoke to my carrier and they suggested I turn off iMessage until Apple does another update. This was after resetting my phone and hours of troubleshooting with the carrier.
Contact your cellular carrier about SMS/MMS.
