Can't download because not enough storage on disk.

Trying to download but I keep getting a message that I do not have enough storage on my disk. Can I download a newer version but not the absolute newest version of software?

Most likely not. If your hard disk is too full the computer can stop functioning. Your solution is to either delete sufficient data to do the download or install an external disk, copy files over to it and then delete them from your hard disk to clear the needed space. These days external disks are reasonably priced and easily installed with a vendor provided USB cable. Problem solved.
