I accidentally installed iOS 15.7 instead of iOS 16. How can I update to iOS 16 because it doesn’t show up in my automatic software updates now.

The update takes place in 2 steps.

Just update here ->. Update from iOS 15.6.1 -> to iOS 15.7.

After iOS 15.7 is installed,  go again to Settings -> General -> Software Update.

Scroll down to -> Also available -> tap Update to iOS 16.

What if I did the same thing: accidentally installed 15.7 and no matter what (restarts, checking for update options for the past 6 hours), it doesn’t display the option for 16? Only that I’m up to date with 15.7. 😢

You don't have to update to iOS 15.7 before updating to iOS 16.

You are correct. It can be directly updated by choosing iOS 16.

i don't see the ios 16 it's been out for 7 hours i've updated to the 15.7 and still didn't see the 16 i am compatible with it tho

no option to update to ios16 on my iPad Pro after updating to 15.7. On iPhone it showed “also available” but not on iPad Pro.

The iPadOS 16 has not been released. It will be released at a later date which is not announced.

Yup, that's how I did it this afternoon.

Of course, that doesn't help the folks with iPads or iPhone 7's. ;-)
