Finder and Date Created

Hello all!"

I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro (16in, 2019) to Monterey.

When using Finder, when I open a file, say in the Icloud Drive/pages directory, the file always goes to the top and stays there. Even when I try to use "Date Created," or "Date Modified" to organize Finder, the recently opened file stays at the top, no matter when it was created or modified.

Is this supposed to be this way? Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Thanks.

Carlton

How is the window sorted. Do you have any Group selected?

The button in the Toolbar first Groups and with Option-Click, Sorts.

If you show View Options (cmd-J) you can see both the Group and the Sort.
