Running Big Sur 11.6.8, attempted to download 11.7. Screen appeared to freeze with 5 minutes remaining. Each time I attempt another update, I all see is Checking Updates and it never finds 11.7.

Apparent screen freeze '5 minutes remaining' attempting to upgrade from Big Sur 11.6.8 to 11.7. Rebooted and now 'Software Update' cannot find 11.7. Any suggestions.

Rebooted in Safe Mode. Clicked on 'Software Update' . After 30 minutes 'Checking For Updates' screen did not find any update. Rebooted and clicked on 'Software Update'. 11.7 began downloading. Took about 2 hours for download to complete. Two lessons learned here. One, software updates take 2 or more hours to download and if you interrupt the download thinking the imac is frozen, the only way to recover is to boot up in Safe Mode and then reboot. Thanks for the help.
