if that is what you are trying do, then you can simply do an iOS upgrade automatically with your device by

1, connect to wifi network

2, Go to settings

3, General

4, Under the about you will see Software update option.

or you can do it also with iTunes.

Your iPhone 7 can be updated to iOS 15.7. Nothing further.

You will need a newer model iPhone to update to iOS 16.

The iPhone 7, released by Apple in 2016, cannot use iOS 16.

Wavemandaniel’s response will fail if you’re trying to upgrade to iOS 16.

If that’s the case, Axel Foley’s and my response apply.

I know it can’t be updated to iOS 16 or above iOS 15.7 ,he did not state any current iOS version on his device, so am also trying to contribute
