Files on iPhone — how do I get them onto my Mac???

I am on a iMac synced to my iPhone (both just updated). How do I move the files that are in the Files app (on my iPhone) to my Mac (I don't care where on my mac, just anywhere on the actual computer so I can actually use them!) They are connected now by a USB cable but I still don't see any way to make this connection.

You should be able to see them in the iCloud drive on your Mac.

And no, it doesn't require that you connect your phone to your computer with a cable.
