When wearing an apple watch, is there a way for my phone to alert me & (not my watch) when I receive a text?

How can I get notifications on my phone AND watch? If I miss the notification on my watch, I might not see it on my phone until hours later. Notitcations on iphone and watch at the same time How do you get notifications ( from your text messages) on both the iphone 11 Pro with ios 16 and apple watch SE 2nd generation when they are paired? Currently goes to Watch and not phone. Turging off Wrist Detection turns off all the important features of wearing the watch so not an option!
