My folders have duplicated but the new ones cant be removed, or openned

I was using Stacks on my new Macbook Pro 14 and when i would open the one stack i had i noticed it would go over some of my folders. Then i notice those folders were duplicated but the copies are just there, i cant open them, i cant move them or remove them. If i add anything new to the desktop it also gets duped with a dead icon. In finder only it only sees one copy of each folder. how do i get rid of these extra dead folders

Try deleting Finder preferences.

In Finder, press Command-Shift-G and paste

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist

Drag the file to the trash, but don't empty the trash just yet.

Press command-option-escape, select Finder from the list and click Relaunch.

Did it fix it? Then you can empty the trash.
