How to find the manufacturing year and display size of my iMac?

Do not show the iMac manufacturing year and display size in the iMac overview. Only showing iMac, and other information. Can you tell me why? My iMac serial number is C0***N5V. I want to know the manufacturing year and size of the display. Thanks

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the  ➙ About This Mac will give the year and model of your Mac. Then reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will assure a good boot into Safe Mode.

About this Mac..." from your Apple menu shows the info you want:

"Sub-model" show year and screen size. If the year has Early, Mid, or Late attached, those are important to finding out what older Macs can do for OS versions.

Note that I have redacted the serial number to prevent the Mods from removing the image.

NOTE: the above format only shows if the computer is running macOS 10.7 or higher. If you get this:

...we have more work to do.
