I am wondering if Apple accepts my iPad mini 1st generation for a trade in
iPad mini Wi-Fi

The first generation iPad mini is obsolete - and in common with other 32-bit architecture models of iPad, is too old to have any residual financial trade-in value. Apple will, however, responsibly recycle the device at not cost to you.
