Is it safe to use a 87W power adapter for the MacBook Air M2?

I have a USB-C 87 watt power adapter and wonder if it's safe to use it to charge the MacBook Air M2.

You can provide more power than required, but a Mac draws only what it needs.

From Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook:

"If your Mac uses USB-C to charge, you can charge your Mac notebook with any USB-C power adapter or display."

Thanks for the reply, but I don't see anything in referenced documentation indicating that this is supported. I'd be worried about too much power being applied to the laptop. Which part it the documentation did I miss?
