Brother MFC-9970

Since upgrading to macOSMonterey, I can not scan on my Brother MFC-9970CDW printer. Is there any way to get around this? Brother does not have a printer driver for Monterey.

Hi,

A macOS 10.15 Catalina driver could possibly work even with macOS 12 Monterey. However, that would be entirely experimental. Make sure that you have backup copies of all important files before testing anything. Software conflicts cannot be ruled out.

Generally speaking, Image Capture can be used for scanning, but a driver may be needed.

If nothing else works, there is a third-party commercial product called VueScan.
