Apple Watch find my grayed out

I am trying to add my Apple Watch to the find my feature but the watch doesn’t allow me to turn on the find my option. It is grayed out.

Hey newapple64,

As outlined below, if your Apple Watch is paired to an iPhone, its automatically added to Find My when your iPhone is:

If your Apple Watch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

"If you already set up Find My iPhone on your paired iPhone, it's automatically enabled on your Apple Watch and any Apple Watch paired using Family Setup."

To clarify, is this a standalone Apple Watch or is it paired to an iOS device?
