Will Ventura make my iMac (21.5-inch, 2017) run even slower than it now does with Montery?

My iMac (21.5-inch, 2017) is running terribly slow with macOS Monterey ver. 12.6 (21G115). It takes forever to open email using Apple Mail and most other applications are very sluggish with each software update. I was surprised to see that Apple is offering me the update to Ventura. Does anyone know if this will further slow down my Mac to the point of total uselessness?

In my experience of using Ventura on the low-end 13” 2017 MacBook Pro since day one, I haven’t noticed any slowdown—on the opposite, the OS has become a bit snappier in certain tasks: for example, Spotlight shows search results immediately, without waiting for a response from the web. As far as I can tell, it’s one of the most stable and least noticeable upgrades (except the redesigned System Preferences (now System Settings) which is terrible).
