iphone 14 pro - watermark on the screen

I tried to put a belkin screen force ultra glass protector onto my iphone 14 pro (brand new, not been used) and it has left what looks like a 'water drop' mark on the screen - which won't clear with cleaning. Is this a fault with the iphone 14 pro screen?
