MAC BOOK ASKING FOR USERNAME AND PASSWORD AFTER START UP

I noticed when I would go to close tabs/windows I would only have the option to quit and keep windows instead of just quit. So I decided to restart my computer. When I restarted it, I logged in as normal but for some reason I got a screen that asked for username and password. I was stuck and couldn't figure out what happened. All the videos and forums didn't give answers.

I got the answer! I did two things. Not sure which one or if both were needed. So with the username screen I restarted and held down command and R until the Apple logo appeared. I logged in and didn't get the username screen anymore. It may have been because I kept holding off installing the upgraded iOS. Also I learned my OPTION key was stuck which was causing all windows to be downloaded instead of opening as normal.
