Wiping an employees laptop but can't access due to Apple ID being connected

One of my employees gave me their laptop and we wiped it using startup options. I was trying to reopen it to make sure everything worked, but it says that i need to use the last appleID to get permission to reinstall MacOS. The former employee does not want to give me their ID/Password as they use the same logins for everything. Is there a way to get into the laptop around the appleID?
