notes crashing

When I select "Customize Toolbar" from the Notes "View" menu Notes crashes. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Please restart your Mac and try again.

Log out, sleep, restart, or shut down your Mac - Apple Support

If the issue persists after a restart, try in Safe Mode.
