My notes app does not have a recently deleted folder. What can I do to recover notes?

I’m missing notes. My notes app does not have a recently deleted folder. Why not? How do I recover deleted notes?

The Recently Deleted folder only appears if there are deleted notes that exist. There are no deleted notes to recover on your iPhone since there is no Recently Deleted folder.

Thank you for the reply. This after noon, I looked at my phone with the nots app open, there was a pop up box saying undo. I hit this by accident and everything in the folder disappeared.
