Keyboard Glitching Out

My MacBook Air M1 has suddenly developed a glitching keyboard and mouse. The cursor jumps from side to side of each character while logging in. I was able to manipulate it with the arrow key for my username, but my password has characters requiring the use of the shift key, plus I cannot see the characters. I have no access to the laptop. I have a wireless keyboard and plugged it into the dongle, but there were no batteries so it has to connect once I’m logged in. I click on the keyboard icon upper right and it glitches out with the language options flashing off and on. This happened when I received a file vault message and then told me chrome has to restart. It restarted and I am locked in my login page. Anybody have issues like this before? Thanks!

Troubleshooting a Glitching Keyboard:

What is the processor?

Reset your SMC and your NVRAM:

(Applies to Intel-based Macs only): If you are not getting any issue in this manner, then it is obviously an issue with macOS being misconfigured somehow. Sometimes, changes (i.e. Update Installations) are made, and then settings (i.e. Screen Brightness) become manipulated, technically. So, reset both. Note that is may take a few tries just to reset them successfully.

Use an External Keyboard:

If you use a hardwired connection of USB-A, then use this adapter: USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple Support
