You could possibly carry out an experiment with a universal driver. This may or may not work with your printer. It may be a good idea to begin by resetting the printing system (see link below). It may be worth checking whether the latest (September 29, 2022) V3.93.06 Samsung universal print driver for macOS 12 could be used in this case. The idea would be to re-add your printer while choosing to use software for one of the printer models included (you may have to try several, such as various SCX and M models).

If this does not work, another discussion Samsung ML-1860 and latest MacOS could perhaps be of interest to you. The article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support lists a Samsung SCX-4600 Series version 1.08.01 driver. The workaround described by Matti Haveri in the discussion is intended to avoid a problem with a downloaded package not opening/installing under the latest operating system versions.


Before testing any printer drivers, make sure that you have multiple backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera). Software conflicts cannot be ruled out.
