No option to view recently deleted
What if it doesnât have the ârecently deletedâ option even with the update? Means itâs been cleared?
iPhone XR, iOS 15

What if itâs up to date and letâs say the messages were deleted a few days ago (after the update) but thereâs still no option of ârecently deletedâ ? Does that mean they were permanently deleted from the ârecent deletedâ option or is there another reason the option isnât showing?

According to your profile your phone has iOS 15. You need iOS 16 to recover delete texts, and they must have been deleted after you update to iOS 16âRecovering deleted texts and iMessages - Apple Community
The messages must have been deleted.......after......you installed iOS 16 in order to show up under Recently Deleted. If 30 days have passed since the messages were deleted, they have already been permanently deleted.
If you deleted messages......before......you installed iOS 16, the messages are gone.
