Ever since my phone has been updated to ios16.1.1 it has been freezing and restarting once every 30 min and it's so frustrating. It's not a hardware problem because I have not dropped or had water damage to the phone. My phone battery health is still 86% . What can i do to fix this?

When battery is reaching the critical point of its life, it can have unpredictable behavior.
Try also a "forced" restart of your 12, using these instructions:--> Force restart iPhone – Apple Support
Or, it might be a hardware (digitizer? other internal component?) failure but we, just users like you, cannot diagnose that issue remotely, sorry.
I suggest that you make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.
