So my friend has tried everything to get into his phone!! He forget his pin right after changing in so we get on my desktop and try to figure out his Apple ID and password, yall he never goes into his Apple account he never even did a update basically he bought this phone and only talk n texted!! Anyway it’s been 2 weeks or more and for now he’s got a straight talk all while paying verizon for his iPhone plane. Did I mention verizon told him the phone of basically trash without being able to get into his apple account or iCloud ect but the only Apple ID n password hes ever had was when he got his iPhone. So is there a way to factory reset he still has the box it came in and papers. It’s a iPhone 12 HELP

Try to recover his ID and password. that's the most direct method. If you can't then you may have to request Apple reset the phone (and everything will be lost that's on it).

Help with a lost Apple ID or password:

• "If you forgot your Apple ID" [this is likely an email address you are using or used in the past] click here --> If you forgot your Apple ID email address or phone number - Apple Support

• "If you forgot your Apple ID password" click here --> If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

Reset device:

Apple can completely reset a device if a person can provide sufficient evidence of valid ownership. This is done online at: Activation Lock support request - https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support Apple says, "Proof of ownership documentation is required," but does not provide details as to what is acceptable proof. Prior to this new online service Apple typically required the original receipt* issued by Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller and documented provenance (so typically it would be the original owner who does this, or a descendant with legal proof of ownership).
