losing the cursor on new Ventura macine

We just bought a new MacBook Air M2, which (of course) came with Ventura macOS. We lose the cursor pretty often and don't know how to get it back. Reading other posts suggest 1) clicking on the touchpad, or 2) hitting Tab. We'll try those, any other suggestions?

Shake the mouse back and forth or slide your finger side to side really fast on a trackpad. The pointer cursor will grow larger making it easier to find.
