How to connect iPhone 14 Pro Max to PC usb-3 port?

Would you mind explaining how a wall adapter, using my current cable that came with iPhone 14, help me to connect directly to my PC, which doesn't have a USB-C port? One end of the supplied cable is a flat part (lightning) I plug into the phone, but the other end is strictly USB-C.

So the small flat end (lightning?) plugs into my iPhone 14 and the other end (usb-3?) plugs into my usb-3 port on my PC?
