Mismatched airpods

Find my says my air pods are mismatched, but when I play a sound, both buds play the sound. How can I reset so it acknowledges both AirPods are mine? Also, would this keep my case from charging?

Hi there Momma1Bear,

The best way to stop seeing this message on your iPhone would be to follow these directions from the article you've already looked over (If you see an alert that says "AirPods Mismatch):

Try to get your AirPod back
If your AirPods are mixed up with someone else's AirPods, you'll both get an alert that says "AirPods Mismatch." Use the Find My app to locate your missing AirPods and play a sound to help you identify which AirPod is mismatched.

Replace your missing AirPod
If you can't find your AirPod, you can get a replacement AirPod from Apple Support. Just find the serial number of your AirPods, then contact Apple Support.
Learn more about AirPods pricing and service options.

If these AirPods did not get mistaken with another set, reset the AirPods using the steps here to see if it associates both AirPods with your Apple ID: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro

Cheers!
