My camera stopped working on my MacBook Pro running Monterey 12.6.

My camera stopped working on my MacBook Pro running Monterey 12.6. It stopped working on an earlier Mac OS, and when I upgrade, the camera started working but only briefly. Now nothing, on zoom, on FaceTime, on anything. It won't even register a camera option under camera in system preferences. Please help. Thanks, Rob

Hello jesterhead,

It looks like you've had the opportunity to review the steps from the related article above: If your built-in camera isn’t working on your Mac - Apple Support

Since that persists, let's use the steps from this resource to boot into safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

It can take a few extra minutes to boot into safe mode. Your screen may flash or flicker while in safe mode. Those behaviors are expected. Testing in safe mode runs a check on your disk, removes some cached files, and can help isolate conflicts with startup items. Once you've tested that behavior in safe mode, you can restart to leave safe mode.

If that still continues while in safe mode, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Contact - Official Apple Support They'd be in the best position to look into this further.

Take care.
