after installing macOS Ventura sleep function does not work.
when in Lock Screen when sleep is clicked on, the screen remains turned on.

Lock Screen..? As in Control Command Q—my screen goes black in ~20 sec or so...
How about from the drop down>Sleep
if you touch any key it will immediately come out of sleep.
