Iphone camera going crazy.

My daughter has an Iphone 12 that we just got and it is having issues. When we load it from her prior Iphone 8, it will operate perfectly for 2-3 hours then the camera goes crazy (both front and back). It gives black screen, it goes blurry, it won't take any pictures...it won't switch from 1x to .5x. We have reset settings multiple times...again, we get less than 3 hours before it goes bonkers.

We have restored from I-cloud instead of directly from the other phone but same thing happens. Other apps like Snap and Instagram also fail at the same time (as far as taking pictures goes)

I'm wondering if this could be a corrupt backup causing the issue? If it's hardware, why does it work perfectly for hours, then not at all? Any help would be great
